Sol et Luna 1

Sol et Luna is mainly a payload design project using a video camera as the sensor.  The objective is to design a payload that will be more stable than the typical  "beer cooler" hanging from a string.  The basic theory is that a payload which is at least roughly aerodynamic (there were no tests performed in a  wind tunnel in the design of SL-1) will tend to "sail" more in the winds of ascent and descent.  Also, Sol et Luna is latin for Sun and Moon.  The vessel is launched at sunrise on the first day after a full moon.  This means that horizon shots will include both the sun and moon.  Having this premise for the project keeps the team from launching a new mission every other day.
